A family’s pet dogs protect their owners by turning on a 8.2ft long venomous snake after it slithered into their garden. The four pooches circled the deadly king cobra, nipping the reptile with their teeth while a woman yelled out instructions to the dogs.

She and her family were left terrified after the elapid – the world’s longest venomous snake – came into their backyard in Phitsanoluk, Thailand.

The matriarch can be heard commanding her furry charges to keep the animal away from the house.

The woman was said to be experienced in dealing with scaly intruders and was prepared to rush her faithful dogs to a veterinary surgery if they had been attacked by the snake .
